So begins a song about climate change, available for downloading from the EPA's Web site. "The Governor retains the right and authority to order furloughs if necessary to address a fiscal and cash crisis," Endsley wrote. The... |

| A few days ago there were reports that 30 cars had their tires slashed at an early voting site in Flordia. Apparently only Obama supporters cars were targeted. Also, at an Obama rally in Fayetteville NC, again 30 cars had their tires slashed. Unfortunately I have been unable to find any updated news on these incidents. Suspects talked to? Suspects caught? Zero follow up after initial reports. Anyone here have any updates? It seems odd that two places seperated by many miles both magically had 30 cars affected. |

Bush's Medicaid plan could slash safety net

|
PRESIDENT Bush's plan for Medicaid represents a fundamental change in the philosophy behind the health care program for poor and disabled Americans.

It's a change California's congressional delegation should resist.

Here's the current philosophy: The federal government will match the money states pay for health services to poor children and disabled adults. All states offer a basic level of services; if they offer more, the feds will match those dollars, too. Wealthier states like California receive roughly one federal dollar for every state dollar; poorer states like Mississippi receive more than $3.
|
